Sally Elizabeth Walker 

     After a courageous year and a half long battle with ovarian cancer, Sally Elizabeth Walker passed away peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba on October 13, 2007. 

     Predeceased by her brother Allen in 1989, she leaves to mourn her beloved husband Jack Heins, stepdaughter Kelly, stepson Cory (Brandi), parents Dick and Betty, sisters Barbara, Leah (Tim), and nieces Alana (Doug) and Codie, nephew Jason (Bridgette) and several great nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her special little “babies” Maxx and Sasha

    Sally was born February 15, 1960 and grew up on the family farm at MacDonald, attending school at MacDonald, Yellow Quill, and Portage Collegiate. In 1980 she moved to Portage and started working at Portage Mutual Insurance, working her way up to commercial underwriter, where she remained until her illness in 2006. In 2000 she met Jack and moved to MacGregor in 2001 where she lived until her passing. Sally was very accomplished in many areas of her life. A gifted pianist, curler, golfer, cook, baker, and craftsperson. Sally always excelled at everything she did. She was a very loving person, always ready to help whenever she could. 

     The family would like give a special thanks to all the doctors and nurses who helped Sally, especially Dr’s Ross, Kinnear, Antonissen and Debbie Bunnick. 

     A viewing was held Tuesday, October 16, 2007 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Clarke’s Funeral Chapel in MacGregor.

      Funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in the MacGregor United Church, lunch was held in the MacGregor And District Community Hall.  Interment followed in the Longburn Cemetery.
