Robert (Bob) Clarke

Clarke's Funeral Home, formerly Hammond Funeral Service first started operation in Gladstone in 1961 by owners John and Jean Hammond.

Bob grew up in Glenella, Manitoba and began his apprenticeship as a Funeral Director and Embalmer in 1969.  In 1972 Bob and Eileen purchased the funeral home in Gladstone.  In 1992 a full service chapel was built in MacGregor.

Bob and Eileen have two children: son Robert lives in Winnipeg and is employed with Canadian Food Inspection Agency; he and Nancy reside in Winnipeg with son Kingston; daughter Julie is a licensed funeral director having worked with her dad in the family business for nine years; she also has her BN and works full time as a nurse; she and husband Clint Sigurdson reside in MacGregor with sons Brock and Rhett.

The Clarke family celebrated 35 years in the funeral profession in November 2007 and continues to operate the funeral homes in Gladstone and MacGregor serving families in the surrounding communities and beyond.

Abilene Racette

Abilene Racette
Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

Abilene was raised in Sandy Bay First Nation, Manitoba and graduated from high school in 2005. She attended the University of Manitoba for a year before starting her Funeral Profession. Abilene graduated from the Canadian College of Funeral Services in June 2010 receiving her Funeral Directors and Embalmers licenses. Abilene started at Clarke's Funeral Home in June 2005 and very much enjoys being in the funeral service profession. Abilene also enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She still resides in Sandy Bay with her husband Kevin and son Benjamin who was born in February 2013. Abilene received her Commissioner of Oaths in the summer of 2015.

Julie Sigurdson

Julie Sigurdson
Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

Julie began working with her dad at the funeral home as a teenager. After completing high school in 1994 she attended ACC and in 1995 she returned home to help with the family businesses. She graduated from the Western School of Funeral Service in 1999. In 2005 she graduated from U of M with her Bachelorette of Nursing. She is currently employed by RHA - Central, working at MacGregor Health Centre and continues to be involved with the funeral home. Julie is married to Clint Sigurdson and they live and raise their family in MacGregor.

Amanda Wiebe

Amanda Wiebe
Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

Amanda was born and raised in Thornhill, Manitoba and graduated from high school in 1992. She married Joel Wiebe in September of 1993 and moved to Kelwood, Manitoba. They have three beautiful girls; Mercedes, Montana and Sierra. Amanda started her career in the Funeral Profession in 2006 and began working for Clarke's Funeral Home in the fall of 2008. She graduated from the Canadian College of Funeral Services in September 2009 receiving her Funeral Directors and Embalmers licenses as well as the Dodge 2009 Award of Excellence for embalming.

Greg Emerson

Greg Emerson
Staff Member

Greg grew up in Gladstone, Manitoba. After completing high school, he was employed in law enforcement in Lethbridge, Alberta and corrections in Manitoba. He then completed 25 years with Co-op.
He decided it was time for a change and began working for Clarke's Funeral Home in May of 2012. He is currently enrolled in the Funeral Director/Embalmer course through RRCC.
Greg has one son Scott (Tasha) and two step sons Travis (Janie) Ferguson and Brad (Jen) Ferguson. Greg enjoys camping and fishing with friends and family.
