After leaving school he began farming with his parents on the home farm in the Emmeline S.D.

Every summer Bob enjoyed volunteering at the Manitoba Agricultural Museum, particularly with Bob Anderson on the sawmill.

When leaving the farm, he moved to Lions Manor and lived there until moving into the MacGregor Personal Care Home in fall 2015. which he grew to regard as home. His family is grateful for the compassionate care and friendship he received while living there.

Bob’s family was important to him, particularly his nieces and nephews. He was always interested in what they were doing and proud of what they accomplished In later years he enjoyed knowing his great nieces and nephews and could usually tell you how old they were and loved to treat them to ice cream when they visited.

He liked going out for coffee or a meal with friends or family. His favourite haunts were Gladstone Auction Mart, Hilltop Café or Phil’s Fine Foods in Austin.;

In later years he enjoyed the fellowship he had with the United Church and appreciated the opportunity to attend services.
