Dad was born in Landsberg, Germany on October 10, 1945. He passed away on March 27, 2019 at 12:47 am in the Health Sciences Centre with family by his side.
Dad was an intelligent man. He attended school at a monastery called Mindelheim near his home town of Landsberg. He excelled in mathematics and chemistry; which led him to his career of a chemical engineer. Dad was a bio-chemist, he had his own lab and worked as a professor at the University of Manitoba. Dad also developed his own patents, and provided many services to the U.S and Canadian governments, where he earned his nickname “B Gen O” based out of CFS Alert. Dad received many commendations throughout his years of service. He was an adventurous man who travelled many places, including all the states except 2 (which he took Mom with him). He spoke and understood several languages including Ojibway – which Mom taught him. He shared his adventurous lifestyle with many, including his love for flying where he took Mom through the Grand Canyon.
Dad had a knack for anything he set his mind to. He had an “if it’s to be, it’s up to me” attitude and left this world with “flowers in his footsteps”.
Dad was predeceased by his loving wife Janice. He is survived by his children Robert (Vanessa), Sharon (Neil), Roberta (Eldon), Ralph (Rosiland); the granddaughters he raised as his own Renee (Darryl), Rae-Ann (Wayne) and his three great grandsons Dominic, Tyler and Amadaius. He also leaves to mourn many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren
