Cyril Richard Desjarlais - "Coolieman" passed away at the Portage General Hospital on June 3, 2018 at the age of 66 years.
Cyril was predeceased by parents Edwin and Edith, Brothers Edward, Wilfred, Harold, Sister Mae, Marlene and Grandchildren Natasha and Lydia. Surviving is sister Denise Roulette; Brothers Wendall Desjarlais and Russell Prince; Daughters Cecilia, Cathy, Miranda, and Fleurette; godchildren Lorraine Richard, Susan Roulette (Lavasseur) and Tina Roulette; as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. Coolie was known for his extraordinary musical talent especially the fiddle. Many people were honored to play music with him especially in local talent shows. Coolie was a family man who valued life lessons and taught his children these life lessons, especially those that cannot be taught from a book. Coolie enjoyed hunting and outdoor life especially camping. He enjoyed eating wild meat, fish, ducks, geese and firmly believed in not wasting any food. Coolie worked on various farm jobs. He worked as a water man for Sandy Bay Band. Coolie loved his late wife Barbara and his family. He was blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Coolie had many friends and always made people laugh with his special brand of humor.
Our dearest coolie man, life will not be the same without you. We will miss your music, your laughter, and your smile. Until we meet in that sweet by and by, play fiddle play..
