great sadness to announce the passing Dennis Peter Jr. Desjarlais III (Wahpishki Ojichaak Pineshii Kwiisens) on January 14, 2020 at the Health Science Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba with family by his side, at the age of 13. He was recently diagnosed with leukemia in October 2019 and since then he has battled and tried his best to fight his cancer but Our Lord called him home.
Dennis lived a good, happy, life. He had an amazing personality. He was charismatic, humorous, outgoing, and very ambitious. He had a prosperous future ahead of him. He attended grade 7 at the Isaac Beaulieu Memorial School. He aspired to graduate and attend university or college with his friends. He was very passionate about his dreams and very eager to accomplish his goals. He will be sadly missed by many.
Dennis was predeceased by his father Dennis Jr. Desjarlais II, grandfather Dennis Peter Desjarlais I, and great grandparents Lawrence and Bernice Desjarlais, Peter and Cecelia Campeau.
He has left to cherish his memory, Dennis is survived by his legal guardian Sally Desjarlais, his biological mother Katrina Vincent, his sisters Amber Lynn Desjarlais, and Katie Desjarlais, his grandmother Diane Desjarlais (Morris), his uncles Jeffrey (Sonya), Anthony, and Sheldon (Sheena), and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to extend their appreciation and thank all the staff at Children’s Hospital and Health Science Centre for the loving care they provided. They would also like to thank Chief & Council, Big Ridge Foods, Spence’s Convenience, Beach Road Service, Sandy Bay Child & Family Services, Sandy Bay VLT, Sandy Bay Health Centre, Sandy Bay ASETS, Kullo’s Smoke Shop, Isaac Beaulieu Memorial School, Lake Manitoba Chief & Council, and all the people who donated and supported the family in our time of sorrow.
