It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Angus Edward Starr on January 1, 2019 at the Portage General Hospital. He was born on July 13, 1948 to Angus and Bertha Starr.
Edward was an accomplished businessman who worked hard all his life for his family. He was a Band Councilor for many years in his home community of Sandy Bay First Nation. One of the proudest accomplishments was the addition to the Sandy Bay School, where he and his late brother in law Walter McIvor Jr. fought hard to achieve. Once the high school addition was completed, Edward renamed the school to Isaac Beaulieu Memorial School.
Edward was predeceased by his parents Angus & Bertha Starr, as well as son Angus; siblings Doreen strong, Freda, Lindeen, Verna and Charles.
He leaves to mourn his wife Sonia; daughters Tina, Nika (Robert) Prince, Samantha (Myles) Roulette and adopted daughter Tracy; older children Aimes (Jamie) McCarthy, Corina McCarthy and Wanita McCarthy; grandchildren Mia and Nate Prince, Quinn (Lori), Angus (June) and Myles Sarr, Ayron, Ryle and Zander McCarthy, Alyssa (Devon) Bertin, Andrew and Danielle Booth, Chelsea Parsons and Cadie McCarthy; great grandchildren Grayson Starr, Santaya and Walker Bertin; siblings Mary Louise (Bryan) Daniuk, Harry Starr (Lorraine), Olga Starr (Tony), Waltrina McIvor, Judy (Wayne) Schneider, Charlene McKay; step Dad Frank Beaulieu as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his best friends Mr. & Mrs. Jim Van Dorpe, Father José and also his favourite companion “Yuki”.
