Isaac Neustater Obituary

Peacefully, with family by his side, Isaac Neustater, of Portage la Prairie formerly of Winnipeg and MacGregor, MB, went to be with his Lord and Savior after a brief battle with cancer.

Isaac was born in Wymark, SK to Aron and Anna (Olfert) Neustater. He married Agnes Peters on June 14, 1952 and together they raised 5 children. The family lived in many locations within British Columbia, Alberta and Manitoba until Agnes’ passing in October 1995.  Isaac married Ruth Young on October 29, 2006.  They enjoyed travelling together and spending time with family and friends.

Isaac had a strong faith, he enjoyed both reading and discussing the bible with anyone willing.

Isaac’s career as a certified automotive mechanic suited his life long appreciation for anything mechanical, including antique cars. He had many different interests and hobbies that he also enjoyed which included: model trains, panning/prospecting for gold in British Columbia, travelling, home renovations and doing jigsaw puzzles with friends at his recent home at Regency House in Portage la Prairie. His love of travelling took him to many locations but his highlights were: Germany, England, Poland and twice to Israel. He always enjoyed keeping himself busy fixing things and tinkering.  After he retired this didn't change, he used his skills and trade, helping others, volunteering at Habitat for Humanity and MCC Portage.  Where he was still an active volunteer until he was diagnosed with his illness in early January 2018.

Isaac was predeceased by: his parents Aaron and Anna, 2 brothers: Aron and Johann, 4 sisters: Anna, Elizabeth, Katharina(infant), and Maria; his first wife: Agnes (Peters). He leaves to mourn his passing: his wife Ruth, his 5 children: Brenda (Robert) Taylor, Trevor (Carolyn) Neustater, Dale Neustater, Diane Denser, Terry (Dorothy) Neustater, 8 grand-children and 15 great-grand children; Ruth’s children: Lorie (John) Matchett, Fay Young, Danny (Lori) Young, Russell (Nadine) Young and their families; 3 brothers: Bill (Arlene), Jake (Helen), Glen, 1 sister Kaye (Ivan) Letkeman; many nieces and nephews.

If friends so desire donations may be made to the MCC of their choice.
