It is with very heavy hearts we announce the passing of John Klassen – Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother and Friend to all. Dad never knew a stranger.
Dad’s first passion was his kids and his music. He was so very gifted in many musical instruments – especially the fiddle. His singing voice was crowd-stopping, and he loved to sing – especially harmony. He was involved in his church and ushered and played music with the Bar W Ranch Boys any time he was asked. He also sang in a quartet and Men’s Choir.
Dad worked at various jobs – CN Rail, construction, head custodian, and loved his position as greeter at Walmart where he could chat with everyone.
Dad was a gifted athlete and played fastball with the MacGregor Country Club. He also played hockey with the MacGregor Old Timers and also curled in MacGregor.
His passion for cars and autobody painting was also his shining career at Four Way Motors in MacGregor. Adding to Dad’s amazing creativity, he decided to try his hand at wood working and built Mom a beautiful china cabinet, all 3 daughters were built a curio cabinet and a special curio cabinet was also built for Teresa Doerksen. He also built Faron a beautiful grandfather clock.
John leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Helen of 62 years; daughters Deb (Les), Ryan, Tracy (Lori), Jenna (Jason), Rilee and J.D, Karen, Tamara (Peter), Brody, Brittany, Logan, Jessica (Travis, Dylan, Loretta (Morley), and son Faron; sisters Mary and Elsie. He was predeceased by parents Jacob and Anne Klassen; brother Jake; sisters Annie and Katie; daughter Ramona Lee; grandsons Justin Sawatzky, and Ryan Popko; and son in law Richard Sawatzky.
