Mary (Wiebe) Boschman

With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Mary Boschman.  She peacefully passed away on July 9, 2018 at Portage La Prairie Hospital surrounded by the love of her family. At the age of 84 Mary climbed to stairs to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior.

Mary was predeceased by her parents; her husband Abe; her son Bob; brothers Henry and Abe; niece Tawnja.

She will be sadly missed by her children Shirley (George); Garry; John (Louise); Ron (Marni); Jim, Tim (Allana); Kathy; Leonard (Melissa); 20 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter as well as her siblings Annie, Betty, Tina, Peter, John and Jake.

Mary was born on February 20, 1934 in Rosengart, Mb. She met the love of her life, Abe and they married after a short courtship. They started their new life together in Winnipeg and later moved to MacGregor to raise their 9 children and set up a family car business. In their younger years, they were fortunate enough to be able travel to places such as Germany, Hawaii, Disneyworld, Switzerland and Mexico. They spent many winters in Texas and Arizona where they had set up camp. Her number one job was a homemaker but did get to experience jobs such as McCains, Martina’s Bakery and later opened her own clothing store called Mary’s Jeans and Things.

Mary was always smiling and had many friends. She loved a good game of scrabble, Crokinole or cards until all hours of the night with anyone who was up for the challenge. She enjoyed playing bingo with her friends and meeting at Burger King for coffee. She loved spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking for her large hungry crew. She spent many hours tending to her garden, as it was her quiet place.

She spent the last couple of years with her new friends at the MacGregor Health Center. She enjoyed countless hours listening to music, developing friendships, laughter with “her girls” and just having fun!

Mom has left us with many wonderful, caring memories that we will all treasure.
