Welcome to the memorial page for

Mary (Giesbrecht) Wiebe

April 20, 1931 ~ November 6, 2017 (age 86) 86 Years Old
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother on November 6/2017 at the McGregor health care center.  Her family was by her side.
She was born April 20/31 in the R.M. of Rhineland Manitoba and was predeceased by her husband of 67 years Peter Wiebe.  A loving wife and mother of 6 children, Terry, Judy, Rick, Wendy, Paulette, Shelley, and their spouses, 10 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren who will sorely miss her.
She started working out of the home at the early age of 14 helping to support her family, and continued for many years being the support of her loved ones.
Mary was a wise wife and mother, always lending a hand at whatever tasks her family needed.  She loved a challenge, teaching herself to sew at an early age and later showing a rare talent for painting and the arts. You could find her and Peter at the local farmers markets selling many of Mary’s works and forming new friendships. Mary could come up with a meal for 30 people from nothing, she would bake bread, fix the combine, hang a door and then help at her teenager’s bible study.  She was ahead of her time.
Even during the hardest times, she insisted that her family attend church and she herself led many bible studies for the local women’s groups.  This instilled a strong value system and deep love for God not only in her children, but with the hundreds of teenagers that revolved through her door.
She constantly took in friends of her children who needed a family and a place to stay, giving them support, advice and love.  Mary was so generous not only with her time but also with her money and her talents.  She was a tremendous asset to anyone and everyone she met.
Mary struggled with Alzheimer’s disease these past number of years and the family would like to thank the McGregor health care center as they have taken such good care of her during this time.
We will miss her and will never forget her, our precious, precious mother.
