On August 25, 2023 Abe Reimer unexpectedly passed away in Kenora Ontario. Abraham Reimer was born May 26, 1951 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Peter and Helena Reimer. In Dad’s younger years his family moved to Manitoba where he grew up. He lived on the farm with his parents and 6 siblings. Dad attended school in Morden where he later graduated. Soon after he got a job at Triple E where he fixed campers.
In 1972, he met Eva, the love of his life. They were married on Sept. 8th, 1973. Three years later they welcomed their first son Timothy. In 1977 they moved to the Pine Creek area. During that time Joanne and Phillip were born.
In 1980 they established a homestead. On the farm, Dad focused on grain farming and eventually added a vegetable business. He enjoyed farm life and the nature surrounding him. Some of Dad’s hobbies included baseball, golf, ping pong and playing guitar. Family time was important to him, he enjoyed camping trips, holidays they took together and spending time with his grandchildren. Dad enjoyed his coffee and the fellowship that came with it. He loved hosting people that would stop by.
Dad was baptized upon the confession of his faith in 1970. He dearly loved the Lord and was involved in many church ministries through the years. Many evenings were spent listening to gospel music that would bring tears to his eyes.
After 40 years on the farm, they moved to Austin. There he took pleasure in caring for the yard and his much smaller garden. He continued to market vegetables part time until his passing.
He is survived by his loving wife Eva, son Tim(Janet), Shalynn, Kaylee, Emilee(Caleb) and Alicia, daughter Joanne, son Phillip(Beth), Zachary, Quinten, Kiara, Jocelyn, Griffin and Bella. He is also survived by 1 brother, 4 sisters, many in-laws and nieces and nephews.
