Abraham Samuel "Sam" Wiebe

Abraham (Sam) Wiebe passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at his residence in Portage la Prairie, Mb at the age of 79 years, 10 months, and 20 days.

Sam was born on June 3, 1943, at Aberdeen, Saskatchewan, Canada.  Sam was raised on a farm near Austin, Manitoba.

As a teenager, he moved to Vancouver, British Columbia.  He had many jobs: photographer for the Vancouver Sun, cooking on a tugboat, and later became a captain.  Sam then became a car salesman where he received many awards.  Sam retired to Mexico for 21 years, returning to Manitoba in 2021 to be closer to family.  Sam enjoyed being at Ernie and Tina’s farm most weekends.  He really enjoyed time spent playing cards, camping, fishing, and garage saling. 

Sam is predeceased by his parents Henry and Aganetha Wiebe, 2 sisters, 2 brothers, 2 sisters in laws, and 1 brother in law.

Sam is survived by 2 sisters, 4 brothers, and their spouses and many nieces and nephews and their families.
