Arleen Kramer Obituary

Arleen Francis Kramer, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 75 with her daughter by her side on August 25, 2025, at Grace Hospice.

Arleen was born on June 22, 1950, in Gladstone, Manitoba. She married her husband Ervin on September 7, 1968, and they lived on the farm in Waldersee, Manitoba until 2003 when they moved into town in Glenella, Manitoba. Arleen leaves to mourn two children, son Vincent (Vicki) and daughter Shawna (Mark); five beautiful grandchildren - Kain (girlfriend MacKenzie), Tristan (partner Matt), Leah (boyfriend Chad), Kaleb (girlfriend Jamie) and Abbey (boyfriend Luke); siblings Linda and Mervin (Barb); brother in law Richard (Theresa), sisters in law Ella, and Martha (Amie) and brothers in law Alfred and Pete along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Arleen was predeceased by her loving husband Ervin, parents Ruth and John Bohn, parents in law Karl and Margaret Kramer, siblings in law Annie, Ernest, Willie, Eddie, Doreen, Elizabeth, Minnie and Glenda.

Mom was always involved with helping dad in all aspects of their journey together. Whether it be taking late night meals out to the fields, so the guys didn’t have to take a break at harvest time: to doing the family chores of milking the cows and feeding the many pigs dad always had to have; and delivering mail on the rural mail route for a number of years. Mom was also very involved with helping dad take care of the local hockey and curling rinks for many years; there were many late nights put in by the whole family because of the hockey or broomball tournaments and curling bonspiels where the ice had to be ready to go for the following early mornings. Mom was always a local at the daily coffee shop and at the weekly Wednesday evening bingo. When it was her night to work at bingo, she always brought everyone’s favorite, Peanut Butter cake. Mom also loved watching sports. She loved watching her grandchildren play ball, hockey, or ringette. She could not wait to watch her Winnipeg Jets or Toronto Blue Jays play. Later on in their life together, Arleen and Ervin could be seen sitting outside on their deck just watching or waiting for someone to come over for a visit for a coffee or maybe even a whiskey or two. They would also go out just driving around looking at the crops around the area. They loved being together. Mom and Dad’s journey can now continue, and they will pick up where they left off. We love you and you will be deeply missed.

Special thanks to the numerous doctors and nurses that cared for mom along her journey while battling her disease. Her final resting place at the Grace Hospice will forever hold a special place in our hearts for the amazing care they gave to mom in her final days and hours.
