Ashtyn Leigh Roulette

Ashtyn Leigh Roulette, also known as, "SMASH", was born to Mandy Roulette and Jonathon Houle (biological father). She was raised together by her Mom and her "Dad", Anthony Mousseau. Right from the start, she was surrounded with love by her entire family. As she became an adult, she started her own family and gave birth to her first son, Trevor Schwenzer Jr. (Boo Bear). She loved him dearly, he was her world. Sadly she suffered two pregnancy losses afterwards, an infant daughter and infant son named Lee. She carried herself well and would hide her pain in an effort to keep everyone else happy. She always had pure intentions and always encouraged people to be their best selves. Ashtyn’s love was profound and unconditional, and our family feels so lucky to have had the honour of having her in our lives.

Ashtyn attended Sandy Bay School. Later, she attended the very first all women Pork Processing Program based in Sandy Bay, through Assiniboine Community College in 2017. She then worked as the Postal Clerk at the local post office in the community, where she made many friends and enjoyed serving everyone. She often lent a helping hand in community events, serving her delectable food and her wonderful sense of humour.  Ashtyn would often quote movies and songs as a way of communicating with her friends and family, specifically to make things funny.

Smash absolutely loved to cook. She would often experiment with recipes and share her creations with her family. She enjoyed making treats for her son and the other kids she loved; regularly surprising them with gifts. She had a rare gift of being able to taste every single ingredient in a recipe. At family functions, it was a game for her to taste test every item and figure out the recipes. Ashtyn loved family events; she always took part in the planning and made sure everything was perfect. When she made food, the special ingredient was always “love.” She always had the best parties because she was thoughtful and considered everyone and their preferences. Although she took her time, she always took pride in all that she did, for everyone and for herself. Ashtyn always took the time to get herself ready, she would style her hair, carefully pick out a stylish outfit; when she was unsure of her outfit, she would ask her trusty fashion consultants for their advice and they were always so happy to help. Smash would apply her styling skills when the girls would get together. She certainly was glamorous.

Our family is unconditionally proud of all her accomplishments. Ashtyn was talented in many ways. She was methodical and organized and kept her home neat and tidy, just like her late Koko Betty. She had so much patience, she would take her time eating and was always the "last man standing" to "throw in the towel", and even auntie Lynette couldn't beat her!

Ashtyn had many close cousins who became her closest friends. There was hardly a time when they were apart. Our time with Ashtyn will forever be cherished; all the beautiful memories will be kept safely in our hearts. As mentioned, Ashtyn frequently used quotes to express herself, especially with this specific quote:

 "Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous or boastful, it is not arrogant or rude. Love never fails."
