Bertha Bueckert Obituary

Bertha Bueckert (Loewen) of MacGregor, MB passed away unexpectly at Portage General Hospital on September 2, 2021.

She was born in Gretna, MB, and her family later moved to Bagot. She met her husband to be at church and they were married June 28, 1959. They lived in Currie district until after Abe retired.

She dedicated her life to God and family. Bertha (Abe) also fostered two boys from MDC for many years. Being a woman of faith she kept busy with church activities and functions. She was a member of the church ladies aid, local Currie ladies aid, and also a leader in 4-H teaching sewing.

When things got tough with farming she went to work at Bonanza restaurant, then on to MDC where she worked for 10 years and retired from due to health issues. She struggled with many health issues throughout her life but never gave up her faith.

She had a huge garden with lots to share, loved sewing (even for others) and had a wide varity of other hobbies she loved to do.

As the years past and family grew she instilled her faith, values and love for cooking. She loved spending lots of time teaching her grandchildren to bake, it was one of her biggest pride and joys. Anyone who came through the door became like instant family and were greeted with biggest smile and warmest welcome.

She lived her life by example of the hard work, kindness and had a generous heart. Her hugs were the best and an absolute necessity. (Sometimes they even came with an extra pat on the bum).

When Abe was put into the care home, she moved to MacGregor and lived at Hampton Court up until just before her passing.

Bertha is predeceased by husband Abe, son Leonard, son Vic, and great grandaughter Kylee Stewart.

She is survived by daughters Maria (Art) Rodgers, Rebecca, daughter in law Kim grandchildren Karis (Nathaniel) Wiebe, Rochelle (Adam) Young, Larissa (Scott) Stewart, Eric (Shiyrah), Victoria (Josh) and great grandchildren Damian, Malachi, Rhianna, Keisha, Dimitry, Dominic, Dante, Dexter and Everett.
