Beverley Alice Wolfe, born on June 27th, 1940, passed away on November 26th, 2023, at the age of 83. Raised in MacDonald by her parents, Ralph and Bessie Bailey, Beverley was deeply rooted in the values of family and love.
Mom was predeceased by her parents, husband Jack in 2015, her sister Noreen last year and her brother Tom this year.
Devoted to her family, she is survived by her daughter Jo-elle (Brad), son Lincoln (Kelly), and was a cherished grandmother to Logan (Illya) and Zeta (Logan) Ward, Riley (Catlyn), Nicola, and Charlee Wolfe. She also leaves behind her sister in law Carol Bailey and many nieces, nephews, their families and other extended relatives.
After graduating from high school Mom went to Manitoba Teachers College.
In 1962, she married her childhood sweetheart, Jack Wolfe, embarking on a shared journey of farming that lasted until 1999.
A dedicated educator, Mom taught at Pipestone, Long Plain First Nation, MacGregor, Austin and Portage la Prairie. Her passion for teaching inspired countless students, leaving a lasting impression. She also attained her pre-Masters from the University of Manitoba in Literacy in the 1970s. She retired in 1999.
In 2001, they settled in MacGregor on the golf course, it was a great transition from farm life all of their lives. They enjoyed many games of golf as well as the other players that would wave and shout a greeting as they passed by Mom and Dad’s yard. Mom loved her flower beds and house plants, her pride and joy, she spent many hours gardening and working in her yard.
Mom curled a lot of her life including the Senior Ladies Provincials.
Mom had a passion for the arts. She sang and played the piano with great joy. She played at multiple churches, MacGregor Care Home and Victoria Place. Mom loved her church, MacGregor United and she worked over the years as a board member as well as on several committees including the Fall Supper, Talent Auction and Pie Sale to name a few.
Mom loved to sew. She often created matching outfits for her grandchildren when they were young. She really enjoyed getting her hair and nails done, lipstick, dressing up, her Cadillac and social events of all kinds including the Park Drive coffee clutches.
She travelled a lot including Europe, Jamaica, Mexico including Lincoln and Kelly’s wedding, family trips and farm trips, Alaska and many other states. She and dad were also snowbirds in Texas for many years.
A funeral service will be held on Friday December 1, 2023 at MacGregor United Church at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to STARS Air Ambulance.
Thank you to everyone that helped make Mom’s life better, the list is very long.
