Catherina (Tina) Buhler passed away peacefully at the MacGregor Hospital on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at the age of 84 years.
Tina was born on January 25, 1940 near Aberdeen, Saskatchewan to Heinrich & Aganetha Wiebe. As a young girl she moved with her family to a farm near Austin, MB. She enjoyed her time in the Austin School but when her mother was not well she had to quit to help at home. Tina was baptized in her youth at the MacGregor Bergthaler Church.
Mom met dad, the love of her life, in 1959 and they were married October 29, 1961. They first lived in Winnipeg where their son Marvin was born and then moved to Abbotsford B.C. in 1964. They completed their family in 1968 when Don was born. Mom enjoyed her role as a wife, mother and grand-mother. She loved birds, especially hummingbirds and always had a feeder out her window. Crocheting was a favourite pastime and many were fortunate to receive her handiwork. Mom also enjoyed motorcycle trips, camping at Osoyoos, and spending time with her grandchildren & great grandchildren.
Although mom & dad loved the mountains, in May 2001, they made the decision to move to MacGregor, MB to be closer to family. Mom and dad spent their time traveling to Mexico, Hawaii, & the Yukon and enjoyed camping, fishing, and going to garage sales.
Mom was predeceased by her parents, two sisters, four brothers, two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law.
Mom is survived by three brothers and one sister.
Left to mourn her passing is her husband of 62 years, Ernie, her son Marvin (Brenda) and their children Cody (Nicole) Nolan, Natalie & Leah; Kyle (Renata); her son Don (Tami) and their children Emily, Karlie & Brody (Laura). She is also survived by many nieces & nephews.
Funeral Service is on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at the EM Church in MacGregor, MB at 2:00 p.m., with public viewing from 1:00-2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Central Plains Cancer Care Services.
