With great sadness, we announce the passing of Clive Robert Strong (Bobby), who passed away peacefully on August 31, 2024, at the age of 40 in Brandon, Manitoba.
Bobby was born on June 15, 1984, in Gladstone. He grew up in Kinosota, Dauphin, and Amaranth, Manitoba. After graduation, Bobby and his family moved to Brandon, where he attended Assiniboine Community College and completed his Level 2 Heavy Duty Equipment certification. He began working at Regent Rental in Brandon, where he unfortunately sustained an injury. Following that, Bobby worked at Spring Hill Farms and EF Moon. After moving to Dauphin, he continued his career at CanWest Rail, Syrnek HD Service, and Case IH.
Bobby was an avid hunting guide, working alongside his dad and brother, Chris. He thrived in the wilderness, and through guiding, he built lasting and meaningful relationships with what became his hunting family — fellow outdoorsmen Mike Stanco, Boyd Trachel, Todd Miller, Luke Cruz, Raymond Racine, Pat Reeve, Dan Mayer, and Kelvin Henderson.
Bobby often shared stories about working with Chris and Mark on the lake. Despite the hard work and challenging conditions, they always found humor and enjoyment in their days, creating unforgettable memories that will be cherished forever.
His love for elk hunting was unmatched and became a defining part of who he was. Bobby loved planning hunting trips all year long, inviting everyone he met to share his passion for the hunt. His spirit was always at its freest when he was out in the wild.
Bobby also loved ski-doo racing with his Uncle Randy throughout Manitoba, where they competed fiercely and won 26 opens together.
A devoted father of five and a proud grandfather of two, Bobby passed on his love for the outdoors to his children, sharing countless hunting stories and adventures with those close to him. He will be remembered for his love of life, his one-of-a-kind laugh, and his profound impact on everyone who knew him. Bobby’s loving spirit and kind heart will be deeply missed.
Bobby is survived by his parents, Mavis and Barry Strong; his sons, Hunter (Tianna), Wyatt, and Skylar; his daughters, Georgia and Zanovia; and his grandchildren, Annalaya and Willow Mae. He is also survived by his brother, Chris (Larissa), and sister, Blair (Evan); nephews, Tony, Ethan, and Ashton; nieces, Christina and Bailee; and Kadence, Kylie, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Doreen & Tony Strong, and Margaret & Bobby Campbell; his cousins, Jamie Desmarais and Fabian Roulette Jr.; and his good friends, Norman McIvor, Patrick Richard Jr., and John Houdek.
