Daniel Hofer

It is with heavy and broken hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Daniel Hofer on April 22, 2021 at the tender age of 60.

Dan will be deeply missed and lovely remembered by his beloved wife of almost 39 years, Gladys and his sons Judah and Shaun (Lindsey); grandchildren Fynn, Dane and Lily; siblings Matilda (Darius), Lena (Zacharias), Katerina (Zacharias), Edna (Leonhard), Rachel (Arnold), David (Adina), Anna (David) and Betty (Martin). Along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Dan was warmly welcomed into Eternity by his parents Preacher David and Katherina Hofer; father in law Wilfred Baer; nephew Aaron Wollman and niece Katlyne Baer.

Daniel was born on July 6, 1960 to David and Katherina Hofer of Hillside Colony near Justice, MB. He is the 8th of 9 children.

He married the love of his life, Gladys on July 4, 1982. Dan and Gladys started their family by welcoming their first son Judah on June 27, 1983. To complete their family, Shaun came along June 20, 1985.

In 1987 Dan and Gladys left Hillside Colony to pursue a new life. Eventually they settled near Sidney, MB where they still reside today. For over 20 years Dan worked for Wurtz Brothers Concrete, there he was highly respected by everyone and in return he respected them just the same.

            Tender-hearted, humble, kind, loving, stern yet gentle, fierce, encouraging, honest, supportive, hardworking, creative, strong – THIS was our Dan.
