David Elke

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Elke on November 4th, 2024.

David was born on May 7th, 1951, in Gladstone, Mb.  He was the youngest of 5 children born to William and Frieda Elke.  David received all his education at the Amaranth School.

David travelled a lot, he moved to Winnipeg right out of school, then to Calgary, where he met Sandra.  Soon after they married, they moved to Vancouver and stayed there for 10 years.   He found a little piece of heaven up in Thompson, Mb.  This is where he owned his little cabin at Paint Lake Resort.   He was able to fish and enjoy the outdoors.  Finally, he made his way back to Amaranth where he retired.

David worked as a mechanic, long distance truck driver and a general contractor.  He described himself as a “jack of all trades”.

David loved to hunt and fish, he also enjoyed golfing and spending as much time as he could outdoors.

 David moved into Third Crossing Manor in July of 2022.  He enjoyed going on outings, going for walks and sitting out in the courtyard, all the musical entertainment, bowling and visiting with all his friends.
