Matriarch: A woman who is a powerful head of a family.
We are very sad to announce the sudden passing of the matriarch of our family Diana Louise Beaulieu, wife, mother, sister, auntie, ko-ko, big ko-ko, cousin and friend.
Diana was born in The Pas, MB, and raised in Sandy Bay.
Diana was predeceased by her parents Lillian and Wilfred Spence; baby sister Sheila Richard; maternal grandparents Charlotte and Isaiah Whitehead; paternal grandparents Louiseanne and William Spence; grampa Amab Prince; nephew Isaiah Spence; brother-in-law Darren R. Beaulieu; uncle Alvin; auntie Delvina & uncle Lucien; sister-in-law Emelie.
Diana leaves to mourn her husband Ray; children Al (Jane), Lois (Kevin), Dan, Kevin, Stephanie, Asia and Mateo; grandchildren Nigel, Dana, Travain, Ava, Alora, Kayde, Tyus, Brantley, Kinsley, Kaiyzen , Noah, Rhianna, Randall, Waylon and Willy; great grandchildren Nigel Jr., Jacelynn, Jazzlyn, Zaylee and Emery; sisters Leona (Larry), Rhonda, Sharon (Darren), Linda, and Rita; aunts Doreen and Yvonne; brothers Arnold (Sheila), Wilfred Jr. (Terry), and Shane; godchildren Erica Spence, Tricia Spence, Tracey Beaulieu, Jenna Beaulieu, Evan Ames, Miles Spence, Zoey Mulvena, and Ashley Spence; special friend Myrah Spence; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Diana’s most important thing in her life was her Tradition, she was a very traditional woman.
Diana had many accomplishments and strived to do her best. She worked at the Health Centre for 27 years as an addiction’s councillor, she was also a magistrate and justice of the peace. Diana took pride in all she did, she liked helping people and loved working and helping kids, Diana also taught Native Studies.
Diana loved spending time with her grandchildren and family, she loved travelling, pow-wows, collecting salt & pepper shakers, family gatherings, music and dancing.
