Doreen Evelyn Davidson McCrae passed away on September 30th, 2023. She was born on October 15th, 1934 in Leroy, Saskatchewan.
She will be lovingly missed by her son Dean (Jeanne) Davidson; daughter Kim (David) Shepel; granddaughter Kara (Nathan) Riske; great grandchildren Max & Sam.
Doreen loved music, she played the piano for as long as her children can remember. Being a young child, listening to her, her whole life playing the Ivory Keys. She was in numerous bands and clubs, holding up all the highlights of the songs of yesterdays years. I can’t emphasize how much she loved to play the piano and how well she did it, one thing is for sure, you asked mom to play a song and she’d be on top of that piano like paint.
Doreen moved to be with Tom Murdoch McCrae in 1980 to live on the farm. She has great memories of feeding the men that were working the fields. Her other passion was the Legion and the old hotel, taking in beer stock supply from the big truck to the cooler. Working the door at the Legion and selling tickets to some crazy eight game. Doreen moved six years ago to Drayton Valley into a complex named Seasons. She was actively in exercise classes and playing music on a daily basis, she loved it there. We would do a weekly trip to Walmart or even just to do a drive around. She was feisty and friendly, going with staff members representing the Seasons franchises to other small businesses, police stations, Tim Hortons, etc. always outspoken and loved little children and animals. She loved Missy, Dean’s little dog.
Doreen is reunited with her late husband Tom Murdoch McCrae.
Forever in our hearts.
