After a long and full life, Dorothy (Dot) passed away in her sleep at Beacon Hill Villa (care facility) in Victoria, BC at the age of 94.
Mom was born at Beaver, Manitoba on June 30, 1923 to her loving parents Susan Alberta Mowat (Taylor) and William (Billy) Mowat. She also had three sweet sisters Margaret (Seel), Helen (Powell) and Joyce (Koutny). She had a very happy childhood in a caring Christian home and always spoke of the fun on their farm at Beaver.
In 1945 she married Douglas Lamb, the love of her life. They enjoyed many activities together. There was travelling (round the world trip) in the 1970s, golfing, playing bridge, curling and Mom really enjoyed doing crafts. They were also instrumental in getting the MacGregor Library and Archives built and compiling the history of the North Norfolk and MacGregor area in a two volume set of books. It was one of their proudest achievements.
Dot was predeceased by her parents Susan (1978), Billy (1980), her husband Doug (2003) and her sisters Margaret, Helen and Joyce and also her grandson Christopher in 2015. She is survived by daughters Susan Ramone Mowat and Lori Ann (Messner).
Dot was always a lot of fun and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
