Gerry Clemence Desmarais

            Gerry Clemence Desmarais was born in Gladstone, Manitoba on September 8, 1965. Sadly he passed away on May 9, 2020 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Gerry Leaves to mourn his father, Lawrence Desmarais; siblings Fredrick (Marlene), Darlene, Kenneth, Dennis (Wendy), Mervin, Viola (Guy), Cheryl (Nancy), Stanford (Genevieve), Darren (Shawanda), Gerald and Derek; godmother Florence Paynter; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. Gerry was predeceased by his mother Theresa; sister Lisa; brother Johnny and godfather Felix Desjarlais.

            As a young man, Gerry found employment when the addition was built onto Sandy Bay School. He was a natural, and quickly learned the skill of masonry. When the school was complete, he took his skills to Winnipeg and surrounding communities and became known as Gerry Cann, the best bricklayer around.

            Gerry spent many hours creating beautiful dream catchers, which he gave to his friends. You can also find his creative art pieces in the trees on the Desmarais property. We are blessed to have such wonderful reminders of Gerry, which we will treasure always.
