Glenda Dragan Obituary

Glenda Lynn Dragan went home to be with Jesus suddenly on June 30th, 2024 with family by her side at the age of 68.

Glenda was born on January 27, 1956 to Edward and Pearl Smith in Toronto, Ontario.

After graduating high school in Winnipeg, MB Glenda went on to study at Full Gospel Bible Institute in Eston, SK for three years, as her greatest desire was to follow Jesus and His plan for her life.

Glenda’s biggest dream was to be a wife and mother. She met the love of her life Donald in 1983, and they got married in 1985. They were married for almost 39 years. She had three beautiful daughters that were her pride and joy and she never missed an opportunity to share about their lives and accomplishments. Don and Glenda moved their family to Minnedosa, MB in 1994 where they have been in ministry for over 30 years.

After focusing on raising her three girls, Glenda went back to school to get her healthcare aid certification in 2006. She took so much pride in working at the Minnedosa Personal Care Home where she was employed for 15 years before retiring in 2021 . She absolutely loved the residents and staff members she worked with over the years and continued to visit all of her friends there until her last days.

Glenda didn’t have many hobbies because she just loved being with people. Everyone who knew Glenda knows she was the most generous person. If anyone needed her, she would be there without hesitation. Glenda was always doing something whether it was visiting friends, helping people run errands, going for coffee, being with her girls, or her favourite -being at church every Sunday. She loved running the kids ministry at church and all the children just adored her. She also loved her two Shih Tzu’s Lili and Suzi.

Glenda knew how to make everyone she came into contact with feel seen and loved, whether it was dropping off a coffee cake, making a meal, writing a card, or picking up a friend for church. That light, love and joy that everyone saw in her came from her love for Jesus and her desire to be like Him and make Him known. She was truly the most selfless woman and caring friend, mother and wife. Her void will be felt in so many lives and in the community she loved.

Glenda is survived by her loving husband, Donald, her three daughters Kiera and Robyn Dragan, Kimberly (Jordan) Cryderman, brother Gordon (Rae-Ann) Smith, Sister-in-law Linda Smith. Nephews; Andrew (Megan) Smith, Graeme (Claire) Smith and Stephen Friesen (Meghan Chorney), as well as her great nieces and nephews.

Glenda is predeceased by her mother and father Edward and Pearl Smith and twin brother Glen Smith as well as mother in law Agnes Dragan.

Glenda’s celebration of life will be held outside at Valley Life Family Worship Centre (52- 2nd Ave SW) in Minnedosa, Manitoba on Saturday July 13th at 1 pm.  Please note that the funeral will be held outside of the Centre, so we ask if you could please dress accordingly.
