John McDonald Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of J. Allan McDonald at the age of 71, on November 19, 2021, peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones.

Born at the Fox Memorial Hospital in Carberry, Manitoba on May 31st , 1950 to Roy and Margaret McDonald.  Allan grew up on the family farm with his three younger brothers and farming came natural to him.  He spent his entire life working on the farm, spending most of his days farming potatoes, grain and raising Charolais cattle.

He enjoyed keeping busy and spending time outdoors, whether it be hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, quading or checking on the cattle; and could often be found at his cabin on Sandy Lake.  Even after retiring from farming, he was regularly lending a hand on either of his son's farms.

He is survived by his children Ron (Gail), Brian, Heather (Shea), Janna (Corey); step-sons Devin (Vicki), Les (Kristen); grandchildren Shae-lynne, Casen, Lachlan, Kipton, Hayden, Sara, Jaren, Kaelan, Lucy, Danica, Dakota; brothers Howard (Valerie), Don (Mary-Ann), Colin (Karen), and families.  He was predeceased by his partner Brenda, and step-daughter Ashley.

Throughout his battle with cancer, he remained strong, independent and never lost his sense of humour.

Interment will take place at Sidney Cemetery, then a Celebration of Allan's Life will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion in Carberry, Manitoba on November 23, 2021 at 2:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Allan's memory  to the Canadian Cancer Society.
