Kennedy grew up on Dakota Tipi First Nation and neighbouring Portage La Prairie and Winnipeg. He was the youngest of five siblings. As the little brother, he was a little mischievous, however, always ready to help out. Kennedy had a special bond with his mother due to sincerity and gentleman ways. He was ready to step up when a situation arose. Kennedy was an entrepreneur, he owned part of a First Nation Smoke Shop and Gas Station. He also worked within his community, organizing community events. Kennedy had a love for basketball at a young age and grew to be a great athlete. He also kept fit by working out at the gym and eating healthy. He enjoyed going to concerts with his cousins, attending Winnipeg events and music was always on his list. He enjoyed going to the theatre with his friends and cousins watching the latest movie.

Many people knew him as an outgoing, generous, smart, caring, loving, compassionate, good looking man with a touch of shyness. He loved gatherings amongst his friends, cousins and family was a necessity to him.
