Lisa Marie (Ozhaawashko-Binesi'Ikwe) Demerais

Passed away at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at the age of 49 years.

Lisa loved getting together with family and friends.  She loved the outdoors, camping at Amaranth Beach, Bar-B-Q’s and road trips.  She loved her country music awards shows.  Lisa loved showering her nieces and nephews with treats and having sleepovers with them.  She often went “halfers” with Dad on radio bingo.

            Lisa was also a huge Winnipeg Jets fan and never missed a game on TV.  She occasionally attended games in Winnipeg.  Lisa used to love playing baseball in her earlier years and talked about getting back into it to play Masters with Cheryl.

            Lisa was predeceased by mother Theresa Demerais; brother John Demerais; grandparents Alice & Joe Demerais; James & Emily Desjarlais; sister in law Kimberly Dawn Demerais; nephew Robert Demerais; great nephew Nate, numerous uncles and aunts.

            Lisa is survived by her dad Lawrence Demerais; brothers Buffy (Marlene), Ken, Dennis (Wendy), Mervin, Gerry, Stanford (Genevieve), Darren (Shawnda), Charlie and Gerald; sisters Darlene (Ken), Viola (Guy), Cheryl (Nancy); her boy as she called him, Tyson; her only godchild Tatum; godmother Aunty Mary; Uncle Barney (Mona); Aunt Isabel; nieces Gina, Sherri, Sharon, Jessica, Tanya, Cheryl Ann, Theresa, Claudia, Denise,Michelle, Tiffany, Melissa, Tamara, Gianna, Jacquie, and Joya; nephews Jaxon, Gibson, Jordan, Terrance, Kyle, Colin, Simon, Jason, Marcus, Jullian, Kenny, Brayden, Darren Jr. and Gavin; as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.

            Lisa will be missed by her special friends Karen Haines, Stephanie Prince, Mary Pratt, Marcella Beaulieu, cousin Valerie (Barbara Jean), cousin Marlene Demerais, special niece Gina, sister-friend Marcie Assiniboine, and Maggie Myran whom she called Mother.
