Lloyd Hodgins Obituary

We the family are saddened by the passing of our father, father in law and grandfather related to Covid 19 complications.
Dad was born at his Aunt's home, April 30, 1939 in Pratt, MB. Dad was raised on a farm southwest of MacGregor and later had a mixed farm south of Austin. Due to health issues in 2014, he moved into MacGregor along with his pet cat. Dad always had a dog or cat for companionship.

He enjoyed driving out in the country to check on crops, attending auction sales and listening to CFRY radio station. Each Saturday evening The Polka Party was guaranteed to be on the radio. He also followed the Portage Terriers hockey games. Catching up with family and friends by phone or at the local coffee shop was a social event he thoroughly enjoyed. Dad loved his grandchildren and always wanted to know what was happening in their lives.
His later years were spent at the MacGregor Care Home. A special bond developed between the staff and Dad. He was a bit of a prankster and always enjoyed a good joke! He was a little rough around the edges but had such a good heart.

We the family want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for the excellent care provided during his time at the care home.
Dad was predeceased by his parents Jim and Emma Hodgins; brother and sister-in-law Harvey and Florence Schoepp; son Dale Hodgins.
Left to mourn his loss are Valerie Alderson, Dean Hodgins(Barb Kuxhouse) Melissa Boschman (Leonard, Rhett, Delaney) Merlin Hodgins.

Public viewing on Nov 14/2021 from 5pm to 7 pm at Clarke’s Funeral Chapel in MacGregor. Private family graveside service with interment at the Austin Cemetery to follow.
