Lorraine “Gail” Kratz (née Irvine), a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, went to be with her Lord peacefully on November 10, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Arnold Kratz, with whom she shared a life of faith and service in ministry.
Born on June 4, 1943, in St. Rose, Manitoba, and raised in Neepawa, Gail’s life was a testament to her deep love for God, her family, and her unwavering faith. A proud graduate of Brandon Teachers College, her gentle spirit, boundless patience, and joyful creativity made her a beloved mentor to many young minds.
Gail’s faith in Christ was her guiding light, and she was a devoted member of the Pentecostal Church throughout her life. Her faith provided strength, peace, and joy, which she freely shared with everyone she met. A compassionate and caring soul, she offered a listening ear, warm embrace, or word of prayer to those in need. Alongside Arnold, she faithfully served in ministry, embodying a life of service and devotion that was a true reflection of Christ’s love and compassion.
Gail and Arnold raised their three children in Winnipeg creating a legacy of love and faith before moving to MacGregor, Manitoba, where they lived and ministered for 31 years,
Gail’s legacy lives on through her children, Vernon (Heidi), and Heather (Tim); her adored grandchildren, Evan (Lynelle), Victoria (Zachary), Cameron (Hailey), Caleb, Noah, and Ana; and her three treasured great-grandchildren, Jude, Elias, and Maverick. She is also survived by her siblings, Shirley Holomis (Glen) and Ron Irvine (Donna), as well as her sister-in-law Sharon Irvine. Gail was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Bertha Irvine, and her siblings Judith Anderson, Donald Irvine, Gordon Irvine, and Roberta Irvine. Gail was the heart of her family, a loving and steady presence who celebrated every milestone and supported each dream.
A funeral service to celebrate Gail’s remarkable life will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 1:30 PM at the Evangelical Mennonite Church (EMC) 62 MB-350 in MacGregor, Manitoba. Gail’s family extends their deepest gratitude to the caregivers and staff at the Health Science Centre for their kindness and care. Gail will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege to know her, yet her legacy of love, devotion, and faith will continue to touch the lives of those she leaves behind.
