Maria Frieda Eisele

It is with devastated hearts that we announce the passing of Maria Frieda Eisele, our beloved mother, mother in law, grandmother, sister and aunt. Maria passed peacefully into rest on March 8, 2026 at the age of 88 years at Neepawa General Hospital with family at her side.

 Maria was born on May 5, 1937 in Sindelfingen, Germany to Gottlob and Emilie Elsenhans. She was the first of two children.

 After finishing her primary schooling Maria helped her parents with various farm chores while working odd jobs.

 Maria was confirmed in the Faith by the Lutheran church in 1951. The verse given to her was 1. Thessalonians 5:16-18. This became a foundation of her life and was evident throughout.

 Since her father passed away in 1961 Maria worked on the family farm with her mother and younger sister. Farm work became somewhat easier after her marriage in 1965 to Friedrich ( Fred ).Together they expanded and operated the family farm into dairy and grain. During this time their two sons were born, Martin and Bernhard.

 To escape the urban sprawl, Maria and Fred decided to move the family to Canada in 1983. They settled on a farm southwest of Gladstone. Maria got acquainted with her new environment quickly. She enjoyed the country life and took pride in her garden and poultry. The family has always been a priority for her which could be seen by her excellent homemaking skills. In her latter years she had the joy of welcoming her first grandchild.

 Maria was predeceased by her parents and her husband of 54 years. Left to cherish her memory are her two sons Martin; Bernhard ( Carol ), Marc; one sister and brother in law; as well as numerous relatives in Germany.

 A heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff at Neepawa General Hospital, also to those who shared their condolences.
