Mom went to be with her Lord and Savior the evening of November 11, 2022, at the MacGregor Personal Care Home at the age of 90 years.
Mom grew up on a farm with her parents, 3 brothers and 8 sisters. She loved horses and said sometimes she liked to sleep in the barn with the horses.
When she was about 17, she developed tuberculosis (TB) and spent a year recuperating in the Ninette hospital for people with TB. While in that hospital, a very observant and kind doctor noticed Mom’s natural talent for art and provided art supplies for her.
On the cover of the service card is one of Mom’s art pieces that she created, depicted what Jesus did for the world, by being crucified and being raised from the dead to provide salvation for mankind.
On July 11, 1953, she married Willie Peters. Together they had one daughter Gail, and one son Mark. When their daughter was two, their daughter went unconscious and was turning blue. Mom prayed to God and said if he saved her daughter, she would follow God. Dad and Mom joined a new church and attended there for many years. Over the years Mom grew in her love for God and developed a new passion for writing poetry about her love for God. God also blessed mom with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Willie Peters on October 24, 2022; parents Abram and Susana Dick; brothers Abe, John, and Barney; sisters Lena, Marie, Agnes, Susie, Elizabeth, Agatha, Annie, and Katherine.
Mom is survived by her daughter Gail (Werner) Thiessen; son Mark (Prospera) Peters; four grandchildren Emmanuel (Lenda) Peters, Matthew (Monica) Thiessen, Charity (Barry) Welsh, Raymond (Lisa) Thiessen; and fourteen great grandchildren
Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee,
Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.
Luke 23:43
