Mary Bernice Richard

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Mary Bernice Richard, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. On May 22, 2022, Bernice was peacefully called to her eternal rest at Portage District General Hospital, at the age of 66, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

She leaves to mourn her husband Herman of 48 years; Children David (Lena), Cathy (Simon), Heather (Albert), Ricky, Terry; Grandchildren Brayden, Tanya, Darren Jr., Theresa, William, Jewel, Sharon,

Trinity, Tanisha, Kevin Jr., David Jr., Shalyn, Kimberly, Tori-Bree, Kaydah, Ross, Bailey, Damon, Tressa, Ryan Jr., Tyler, Taio; Great Grandchildren Kimmi Dawn, Devon Jr., Ethan, Emery, Skyler, Solana, Chase, Hermionee, Carter; Siblings Norbert Mclvor, Josephine (Maurice), Ruby (Charles), Louis (Becky), Deanna (Rupert), Derek (Susie), Donna (John), David.

Predeceased by her daughter, Kimberly; her son Kevin; Grandson Tristan; her parents, George & Virginia; siblings, Marlene, Edgar, Shawna; nephews Blaine Starr, Brady Mclvor, Maurice Beaulieu Jr.

She also leaves to mourn, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Bernice worked as a dedicated homemaker coordinator for Sandy Bay First Nation for numerous years.

Bernice was a kind hearted woman with a soft spoken voice and calming nature. She had immeasurable love for her husband, children and grandchildren. She was a nurturing woman and took great pride in her great grandchildren. Her world revolved around her family and she always made every birthday and celebration in the family extra special.

Bernice enjoyed spending time visiting with her sisters, sisters in laws, playing Keno and listening to her favorite songs on the radio. She welcomed all into her home and treated all her nieces and nephews as her own.

Everyone she knew had a special place in her heart. She had a very kind hearted soul and would greet anyone with her beautiful smile.
