Our life has changed forever, as it is with great and deep sorrow to announce that our loving brother, Micheal Robert Demerais, has peacefully began his journey into the spirit world at his son-in-law’s home in Sandy Bay First Nation on September 6th, 2023. We love you brother, father-in-law, grandpa, great grandpa, uncle & friend. 

Our brother Micheal was loved by so many and in return he gave his love back. Our brother was known as ‘Milkshake’ to many people who knew him well.

 Micheal was born on April 30th 1968 to our parents, Joseph (JoJo) Demerais and Sylvia Demerais in Gladstone, Manitoba. He was 55 years old in age and lived his life to the fullest. During his childhood years living with his parents, he grew up with his siblings; Frank, Gordon, Charlie, Glen, Rosalina, Irene, Priscilla & Twila in Amaranth, Manitoba where his roots are strong. 

 He found employment through being a helping hand for farmers, fishing, store, clerk, wood, cutting, and cutting grass for the elders. Micheal was kind, patient and gentle as he lived his life day by day without any worries. But Micheal did privately fight with diabetes at home. 

 We will continue to cherish the teachings you have left with us, and the memories you have created with us, humbly, as our knowledge keeper. Forever missed and never forgotten, rest in paradise. It has been extremely difficult to watch you suffer your fight and let you go. We will take comfort in knowing that you are no longer in pain and that your work here is done. Fly high and be with loved ones that have passed on before you. Amen. Forever yours. - Rosalina, Irene, Priscilla, Twila, Glen, Charlie, Frank, and Gordon.  

Micheal leaves to mourn his passing his surviving family and children; Micheal Jr., Melinda, Jr., Michelle, Mathew, Marvin, and Malina; siblings Angela, Frank, Barbie, Gordon (Maggie), Charlie, Glen (Darlene), Rosalina (Kenneth), Irene, Priscilla, and Twila (Brian); special cousin Elaine; nieces and nephews Kevin (Nicole), Jeremy (Sunnie), Ashley (Janie), Fran (Quinn), Archie (Sheila), JoeJoe, Mickey (Sheryl), Quinn, Chasity, Amanda, Vicky, Lawrence, Jonathon, Glen Jr., Ronald, Curtis, Christopher (Lillian), Martina, Steven, John, Robert, Crystal, Patsy, Fiona (Barook), Camilla (Dan), William, Ally, Jordan, Jennifer, and Darren. 

 He is predeceased by his parents JoJo & Sylvia Demerais; grandparents Adeline & William; uncle John Lacquette; brother-in-law Allan Levasseur; nieces and nephews Jessica, Jamie, Vanessa, and Bobby Jo; grandchildren Emette, Garett, Mack, Fredrick, Bobby Drace, Enzo, Maverick, Laura lee, Dianna, Mya, Adele, Shanney, Ziya and Cherliegh.
