Ralph Alderson Obituary

Sadly on March 26, 2021 Ralph succumbed to his recent illness, passing away peacefully at the Portage Hospital at the age of 88 years.

Ralph leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife of 30 years, Evelyne; children David, Rodney (Cindy & family); stepchildren Dennis, Dixie (Kerry), Heather, Scott (Andrea); 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren.  He was also survived by his three sisters Irene, Mildred, Marlene (Dick).  Predeceased by his parents, 1 brother, 1 sister, and his first wife Mandy.

Ralph began his career by attending carpentry college in Brandon before heading to Saskatchewan to the oil fields.  It was there he met and married Mandy Gapani and had 2 children.   He returned to the Pathhead District and farmed successfully for over 40 years.  During that time he built and remodeled many homes in the MacGregor area and throughout Manitoba, including his own.  He was very proud of these accomplishments.

Ralph and Evelyne married in 1990 and enjoyed 30 happy years together travelling to both coasts, California and Alaska.  They enjoyed a seasonal campsite at Shady Oakes for years making many lasting friendships.

Ralph was an avid hunter and enjoyed very much local hunting with his son and friends.   A highlight was the annual Moose Lake partridge hunting trip with Evelyne, cousin Phil and family.

Ralph always enjoyed his birthday parties with friends and family and of course a specialty cake and ice cream.  Ralph was a storyteller and loved to reminisce about his many colorful adventures.

In the late years Ralph loved to tour the countryside to check the land and crops.  He will be missed

At Ralph's request there will be no formal service.  A graveside service will be announced at a later date.

Donations can be made to charity of choice if desired.
