Ruby Elizabeth (Unrau) Rempel

On February 14, 1931, Ruby Elizabeth Unrau was born to Jacob and Maria Unrau at Rush Lake, Saskatchewan where she attended school. When she was 6 the family moved to Grunthal, Manitoba and 10 years later when Ruby was 16 they moved to MacGregor, Manitoba. In the early winter of 1948, Ruby met a young man, Bill Rempel, at a church young peoples party and he asked to walk her home and of course she said yes. Ruby was baptized on the confession of her faith in the spring of 1949 and a few months later, on July 17th Ruby and Bill were married. For the first 18 years, they were always on the move. Living first in Winnipeg, then at the Beaver farm where Sylvia was born in 1953, to Winnipeg where Jerry was born in 1960. Then on to farms at Austin and MacGregor before settling down in the town of Austin in 1968 where they lived for 40 years. In 2008 Ruby and Bill sold their house and moved to an apartment in MacGregor.Ruby was always a hard worker, whether in the house, the yard, or part time jobs in the community

Ruby is survived by her husband Bill Rempel, daughter Sylvia (Albert) Klassen, son Jerry (Connie) Rempel, grandchildren Kathy, Rachael, Chris, Scott & Roxanne, their spouses and 5 great grandchildren.
