With broken hearts we announce the passing of Sheila McBurney, loving wife of Dave.
Sheila passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 12, 2026 at the age of 54 years at the MacGregor Health Center.
Left to cherish Sheila’s memory is her loving and devoted husband Dave of 34 years. Their four children, Kara (Jordan) and their children Ellie, Sophia, and Flynn; Erin, Alexis, and Mark.
She is also survived by her parents Ben and Betty Wiebe, and her three siblings Sheldon (Jennifer), Joelle, and Jerry (Marissa), and their families; mother in law Moyra McBurney, sister in law Jennifer (Zach) Zahradnik.
Sheila was predeceased by her father in law Ivan McBurney.
Sheila was born in Portage La Prairie as the second child of four. She grew up in MacGregor and went to Bible College in British Columbia where she met her husband. Dave and Sheila were married in December of 1991 in MacGregor, where they moved back in Spring 1992.
In 1995 they welcomed their first daughter Kara, and Erin, Alexis, and Mark followed afterwards. Sheila spent her time gardening, crafting, reading, golfing, and being an amazing mother and wife. Her main source of love and joy were her children and grandchildren. In later years, Dave and Sheila purchased Reimer Antenna Service where she worked as an office manager and HR. Sheila had a spitfire personality, a sense of humour, and always made you feel important. Her faith in God was strong..
In late 2025, Sheila was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour. Throughout all of her medical appointments and treatments, she had no pain or sickness, and never once complained. She kept her cheerful attitude until the end. Special thanks to the medical team at HSC cancer care and the MacGregor Health Center, and to the community.
