Thomas Melcosky, age 81, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026, at Country Meadows Personal Care Home.

Thomas was born on May 23, 1945, in Sandy Lake, Manitoba. He was a gentle and kind-hearted man known for his sense of humor, his love of telling jokes, and the many stories he shared with family and friends. Tom had a way of making people smile and feel welcome wherever he went.

For many years, Tom worked at INCO in Thompson, Manitoba, where he built lasting friendships and took great pride in his work until his retirement. He was an active member of the Thompson Wildlife Association and enjoyed competing in archery for many years. An outdoorsman at heart, Tom spent countless days in the bush with his son through Beaver, Cubs, Scouts, and Venturers, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Tom also loved to travel. Together with his family, he explored nearly every corner of the United States, visiting all fifty states except Alaska and Hawaii. Whether close to home or on the open road, he enjoyed the adventure and the experiences shared with those he loved.

Before and during his retirement years, Tom could often be found at his favorite coffee spot, the Shamrock in Thompson, visiting with friends, sharing stories, and enjoying a good laugh.

Above all else, Tom was devoted to his family. He cherished the time spent with them and took great pride in watching his family grow. He is survived by his son, Jeff, and daughter-in-law, Jen, as well as his beloved grandchildren, Tesa, Kallie, Liam, and Keyanna.

Tom was predeceased by his beloved wife, and there is comfort in knowing that he has now found his way back to her.

Those who knew Tom will remember his gentle nature, warm smile, quick wit, and the laughter he brought into their lives. He leaves behind many cherished memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
