It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of my dearest husband of 59 years.  Venance passed away peacefully of February 19, 2025 after a long battle with cancer. .  Venance was born to Amelda and Charles Dignard of Tracadle, New Brunswick.

He is predeceased by his beloved son Michael Joseph Dignard  (2014); brothers Alde, Delphis, Clarence, and Lionel. Venance is survived by sisters Aurore Hebert (Alexis deceased), Noella Caron (Mel), Ava Thibideau (Pete); Brothers Odel (Paulette) and Tigi (Gail).

Venance leaves his beloved daughter Michelle; his son Kevin James (Josee);  brother’s in laws Dennis Doblie (Carol-Lee), Fred Major (deceased) (Annie Elsbeth), Ed Heckbert (Denise, deceased), George Grosch (Ellie Wallace), David Dobbie Jr. (Kathy), William Dobie, Clarence Fedyk (Daveena), Al Smith (Cathy).

Venance was especially proud of his 6 grandchildren: Corey, Tyler, and Kevin James (KJ), Natasha, Jacob, and Jeanee.

He will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Venance is a retired General Motors employee of 28 years from the GM Plant in Oshawa, Ontario. Venance was a handyman, and used his skills to build fences, decks and many other home improvements when he resided in Stonewall, Manitoba.

Venance enjoyed bowling and all of his friends in Stonewall. He also did volunteer driving for Cancer Care. While living in Stonewall, he enjoyed working in his yards along with Margaret. Together they enjoyed the awards bestowed upon them from the town and from the Province of Manitoba for the beautification of their yards, and many gardens.

Venance (Vince) requested no funeral. He will be cremated and his ashes interned in Mount Lawn Cemetery of Whitby,  Ontario. A celebration of life will be held in the Spring in Mount Lawn Chapel. While we mourn his passing, we take solace in knowing he is un the presence of our Lod and Savior Jesus Christ.

The family want to thank Home Care for their care given to Venance. Also, Jake Klassen, Vinces’ cancer care driver for his friendship and kindness.

Although your wings were ready, our hearts are not.

Goodbye

Today a beautiful soul has departed from us.

He spread his wings, then flew away,

To a better place, and happier day.

An angel on earth, a giver, not a taker.

A truly special one, created by our maker.

For in our hears he’ll always be.

Although the lord has seen fit to call him home;

His memory is safe within our hearts.

To draw upon when we feel alone.

He gave to all, you and me.

So in fond recollection, we’ll reminisce.

For our dear friend, you’ll truly be missed.

God Bless
