Wallis was born in Gladstone, Manitoba, however, he grew up in Amaranth. He worked on Tookies farm during his teen years; he was always so proud of the cow he owned, Lily. He later moved to Winnipeg. At 26 years old, while sharing a Taxi, he would meet his future wife, Donna. Over the years, they would build a life together and raise their children, and numerous foster children. He worked at Perths for many years before moving on to become a Drywall Contractor, in which he enjoyed working closely with his brother Ben and James whom he called a dear friend.
Wallis was a loving, romantic, and kind-hearted man. Most importantly, he was extremely hardworking and devoted to his family. Wallis enjoyed camping, bowling, baseball, and long drives. He valued family, BBQ's and gatherings. His upmost passion was the rodeos. The trip of the year was always the Calgary Stampede, where he would connect with the cousins in Saskatchewan; Gale, Elmer, Lorelie, Tammy, Sara, Ervin, Faye, Jean, Katelyn, Larry, Matt, Jamee, and Vern. He would always come back with exciting stories about his family and the chuckwagon races.
Wallis was a helping hand to everyone in need. His grandchildren will forever carry on his strength and courage he has bestowed upon them. He was humble man, and will be dearly missed.
The family would like to thank the staff at Cancer Care and Health Sciences Centre for their amazing quality of care and compassion.
Wallis was a private man and requested no service be held, but to honour his memory in the hearts of those who loved him. His wishes were to be cremated, and cared for by his family in the comfort of his home.
