William "Bill" Doell Obituary

Bill was born on October 6th, 1951 at Carman, Manitoba to parents Daniel & Helena Doell.  He was raised in a Christian home and was the youngest of 4 children.  In 1965, Bill moved with his parents to the Austin area where he attended high school.  In 1971, Bill met Joyce and he married the love of his life on April 26th, 1975. They made their home north of Austin. Bill and Joyce had 3 children, Sharon, Janice and Andrew.

In 1980, Bill and Joyce attended a crusade held in MacGregor where they both decided to follow Christ and dedicated their lives to serve him. Their faith in God became their source of strength through the many ups and downs of life.  Bill and Joyce had a passion to serve in the church and held many roles throughout the years.  The relationships they had with their friends at church were very precious to them.

In 1977, Bill and his brother Dan started a redi-mix concrete business, Keystone Concrete.  Bill continued with the business, while his brother Dan later chose to farm near Gladstone. Bill and Joyce ran Keystone together for many years until 2016 when he stepped back from the business but remained a key part of the operation.

Bill enjoyed all things with wheels and motors, driving motorcycles, fast cars, and heavy equipment. He enjoyed watching football and hockey, especially with family and friends. He faithfully attended his grandsons hockey and baseball games. Bill also loved music and was delighted that two of his grandchildren played piano and violin. When their kids were older, Bill and Joyce bought a motorcycle. This was a special pastime they shared with their friends the last number of years. They enjoyed motorcycle trips during the summer, and also went on bike trips in the winter in the Southern US.

In 2021, Bill had triple by-pass heart surgery and in 2022 he had a cardiac arrest. He recovered from these health setbacks and lived an active life doing what he loved.  Then a sudden change in health lead to hospitalization on July 18th this summer.  On September 6th, Bill passed away peacefully with his family at his side. His family and friends will miss him greatly, but we are comforted knowing that his body is now whole and he is in the presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Joyce of 50 years;

daughter Sharon & Jeff Doerksen, Jaden;

daughter Janice & Michael Fehr, Caleb & Emilee and great-grandson Maverick, and Jocelyn;

son Andrew & Tara Doell, Edmund and Evalynn.

He is also survived by his brother Ernie & Mary Doell, sister Ruth & Bob Johnson, sister-in-law Gladys Doell.  Also Joyce’s siblings Arlene & Jack Kauenhofen and Howard & Lenora Buffi.  As well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

We as a family we would like to thank the doctors and nurses that gave wonderful care to dad over the course of the last seven weeks that he was in hospital.  Special thanks to the family and friends that visited and especially those who prayed for him and our family during this difficult time.
