I had the oppertunity to meet him several times, both in Holland and in his hime town Gladstone Canada. Wiil treasure these moments for the rest of my life.

My sincere condolences to the whole Spek family. Mary... you and John were such a special part of my childhood. I cherish those memories of the times I spent in your home and especially on the houseboat. Fritz and I had an amazing childhood full of love, adventure and a little mischief.... I'll continue to think of John and Fritz often, with a tear and a smile.
