Pearl (Boyachek) Siemas

Pearl passed away peacefully at the Neepawa Health Centre on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at the age of 91. She received her education at Christiana School in Sclater where she resided until 1940 when she moved to Toronto. There she did housework, worked at Tip Top Tailors, made Beran guns at John Ingels during the war and also worked at General Dry Batteries.
Pearl married Matt Siemas on May 24, 1947 and they moved to Neepawa in 1950. They raised five children. Pearl helped her husband in the body shop and later on worked in the kitchen at the East View Lodge for a short time. She enjoyed sewing, canning, gardening, picking berries and mushrooms, but above all her family and friends. She loved walking, often taking us for walks when we were kids. She was very active in the United Church and belonged to the Women’s group. Pearl would also visit people in the lodge who were unable to get out. Pearl and Matt did a lot of travelling across Canada and into the States.
Pearl was predeceased by her parents Dymetro and Katherine Boyachek; brothers Dan, Nick and Alex and sister Jessie and Annie.
She leaves to mourn her children Lorne, Vern, Merle, June and Connie; grandchildren Nicole (Koen) and Kaila; great grandchildren Kennedy, Joshua, Ian and Blake; numerous nieces and nephews; sister in law Margret Boyachek of Portage la Prairie and aunt Donna Boyachek of Dauphin as well as several cousins. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
The family wishes to thank everyone for their attendance in remembering Pearl. May she rest in peace.
